Killed in Action- Pte. John Truesdale Fraser (above) well known Sydney youth who has been officially posted as killed in action.

John Truesdale Fraser("Tooley") was killed in action in WW2. His date and place of enlistment - 6 October 1939, Sydney, Nova Scotia. His service number is F-54615. He was awarded - 1939-45 Star, Italy Star, France and Germany Star, Defence Medal, Canadian Volunteer Service Medal with Clasp and War Medal 1939-1945. He was killed in action on 9 April 1945 in Holland while serving with" The Cape Breton Highlanders". He is buried in Plot 3, Row A, Grave 9, Groesbeek Canadian War Cemetery, Holland.

Pte. Fraser enlisted in 1939, and went overseas in 1941, serving in several war theatres, and at the time of his death, in Western European theatre. Besides his sorrowing parents, Mr. & Mrs. Rod Fraser, 446 Charlotte Street, Sydney he leaves to mourn six sisters: Mrs. Charles Hanlon, (Isabelle) Newark, N.J., Mrs. E. Raymond (Helen), Boston, Mass. Mrs. Richard Adlam (Edith) Sydney, Mrs. Charlie MacKinnon (Marion) Whitney Pier and Catherine and Margaret, at home. One brother, also survives: CPO. Norman Fraser, now serving overseas with the Canadian Navy.
