James "Jim" E. Neal - 80

On August 26, 2003, Jim Neal of Sydney, passed away surrounded by his family at the Cape Bre¬ton Regional Hospital, Sydney.

Born in Glace Bay, he was the son of the late Joseph and Olive (Hill) Neal.

Jim was a veteran of the Second World War, serving with the Canadian Army. He was a longtime member of the Cape Breton Highlanders Pipe Band and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 12. Jim worked as an auto mechanic for several local dealerships, including 25 years as shop foreman with the former MLM Motors and Steel City Sales Ltd., retiring in 1983.

He will be sadly missed by his daughter, Beverly; son, Blair (Marian) and his little dog "Cuddles." Jim is also survived by his sisters, Ortha Hill and Muriel Deveaux; brothers, Glenmore and Calvin Neal, Edgar Morrison and Harry and Jimmie Hill.

Jim was predeceased by his wife, Dora; son. Russell; infant daughter, Marilyn and brother, Alec (Buster) Morrison.

Grampie will be missed always by his grand-children he loved dearly, Derek and Michael Buckingham and Adam and Robyn Neal.

Jim was well-known as a kind, gentle, loving man who devoted his life to his family.
