Steve McDonald

Mr Steve McDonald, 86, of Reserve St, McKay's Corner, passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2005, at the New Waterford Health Care Complex.

Born in Glace Bay, he was the son of the late Stephen and Margaret McDonald.

Steve was a devoted member of Holy Family Church, McKay's Corner.

He was a veteran of the Second World War, serving with the Cape Breton Highlanders and was a member and former vice-president of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 2 Reserve Mines. He was a past Member of the Knights of Columbus.

Steve also served on the board of directors of St. Joseph's Hospital, Glace Bay.

Steve was employed with the Dominion Coal Co. and Cape Breton Development Corp. at the Round House until his retirement.

Mr. McDonald was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

He is survived by four daughters, Donna (Dwight) Button, Glace Bay, Darline (Duckey) Stubbard, Reserve Mines, Margie, at home, and Chris, Glace Bay; and one son Egan (Betty), Newmarket,Ont. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren.

Beside his parents, Steve was predeceased by his wife, Eliza (Wareham), brothers, Ddmund and Egan, sisters, Catherine Longernecker and Christine McDonald.
