Charles Edward `Sonny' Marshall - 88

Charles Edward `Sonny' Marshall, 88, Dundee, Richmond County, died at home Monday, July 23, 2007. Born in Point Tupper, Richmond County, the was a son of the late Charles A. and Sarah Blanche (MacKay) Mar-shall.

Sonny was a retired locomotive engineer employed with the CNR. He was a member of Black River United Church, a member of Solomon Lodge 46, Port Hawkesbury, and received his 50-year Jewel in August 2003.

Sonny was a veteran of the Second World War, serving overseas with the Cape Breton Highlanders, and was wounded twice in Italy. He was a recipient of the Canadian Volunteer Serving vice Medal, 1939-1945 War Medal, Defence Medal, Italy Star, France and Germany Star, and the 1939-1945 Star.

He is survived by his wife, Ina (MacLean); daughters, Charlene, D'Escousse; Cheryl, Dundee.

Charles was the last surviving member of his, immediate family.

He was predeceased by sisters, Vioala Mar . shall, Emma Millard, Bertha Pardy, Edith Read, brother, Clarence.
