It is with heartfelt sadness the family announce the passing of Norman Angus MacLeod, age 94, a resident of the Northside Community Guest Home and formerly of Cape North, on Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2008, at the guest home.

Norman was born in Dingwall, the son of the late Robert John and Annabelle (Morrison) MacLeod.

Norman was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was a veteran of the Second World War serving overseas with the Cape Breton Highlanders.

He worked for many years in construction as a heavy equipment operator. He was a well known fiddler, better known as ‘Little Norman’. He was a member of St. Giles Presbyterian Church.

Norman is survived by his four sons, Gordon, Florida, Wilfred (Dee), Toronto, Angus, Brantford, Scott (Cheryl), Lunenburg; his four daughters, Wilma (Cecil) Duncan, Brantford, Norma (Alex) Campbell, Toronto, Grace MacLeod, Barrie, Ont.,Florence (Fred) Robinson, Lunenburg; his 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; also a number of nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife, the former Lillian (Burton) MacLeod, a son, Jackie MacLeod and three brothers, John, Dan, Murdock and three sisters, Effie, Laurina and Rachel.
